A relatively easy e-bike adventure that starts at Pounta port (W Paros) with ferry crossing to Antiparos, Paros’s little sister island. From Antiparos port, we ride along the northern coastline, going by golden-sanded beaches with turquoise waters, and over rocky cliffs and spectacular seascapes. We continue with an exploration of Antiparos town and its small medieval fortified settlement and then take the road to the serene agricultural valley of Kambos, and the faraway and scenic Livadi beach (W Antiparos) for sweeping ocean views.
Antiparos Cave
In the cave of Agios Ioannis Hill in Antiparos, you will find the oldest stalagmite in Europe! According to an ancient inscription, one of the cave’s visitors was Archilochos the Parian, a great lyric poet of the antiquity. The cave is 90 m. deep, 50 m. wide and 40 m. high, and consists of three chambers.
After an optional refreshing dip, we traverse to the east, passing by Antiparos Cave (optional visit) and Soros beach. We continue riding by the water on a scenic coastal route along the Paros-Antiparos strait and discover the string of beaches of Panagia & Psaraliki with their emerald waters. We close the loop at Antiparos port, just in time to ‘swing back’ to Pounta (5- min. ferry ride in beautiful setting).
[Easy to moderate difficulty with some uphill parts, 35km cycling/20-30min walking, 4h-4h30m total, circular.
