To all the wine and hike lovers out there, this tour is just for you! Join this unique wine experience and enjoy the chance to tour around Naxos in the company of a highly knowledgeable, local wine maker and explore different terroirs and wine making techniques.
In this weekly experience available every Wednesday, you will visit two family vineyards in two different areas of Naxos, while discussing everything there is about wine with your escort, one of the wine producers. Your first stop will be at your escort’s family vineyard, where you will enjoy an informative tour of the vines and a private wine tasting, led by the producer himself. In case you are new to wine, this is the perfect opportunity to learn, as your host will happily explain the basics of wine tasting while guiding you through a total of 5 of his delicious products. He will then join you on your drive to the mountains of Naxos, where you will visit the second vineyard of the day, this time a 100 year old, pre phylloxera vineyard, situated at an altitude of 750m and built amphitheatrically on a mountain cliff. There you will go on a 10 minute hike and explore the differences in vines, terroir, pruning techniques etc. before you sit down to enjoy 3 samples of traditional wine made with a more rustic vinification approach, that perfectly represents the traditional wine culture of Naxos.
